Paradise Poker is owned by William Hill and is a legitimate and trustworthy site for players.

The site offers good bonuses and rewards for both high volume and more recreational players. I would recommend Paradise Poker as a secure and satisfying place to play poker on the network.

About Paradise Poker

Paradise Poker has a rich history. Launched in 1999, Paradise Poker was the second real-money poker site and for a short while held the position of market leader. The site is ultimately owned by William Hill Plc, who bought their previous parent company, Sportingbet Plc, in 2012. The security of a listing on the London Stock Exchange, together with a Kahnawake license and external auditing of their games, makes this a very safe option. There are generous cash-back returns, along with exclusive tournaments on offer at this site. This review looks at whether the game options and player rewards make Paradise Poker the best choice of OnGame skin for today’s players.

The aspects covered below include the look and feel of the site, safety and security, mobile software offerings, welcome bonuses, player loyalty rewards, banking options and customer support.

How Does the Look and Feel of Paradise Poker Compare to Other OnGame Sites?

Anyone familiar with this site on its journey from stand-alone room to the Boss network and now to OnGame will be familiar with the bright orange colouring and palm-tree logo. This works just as well on their new home as before. The client is the standard OnGame software, with this vivid colouring.

The old Paradise Poker URL redirects you to sporting bet’s poker page. Tabs across the top offer sports betting and casino games – though the poker main page takes you right to the information you need on rewards and bonus offers.

Is Paradise Poker a Safe Place to Play Nowadays?

This site has always been legitimate, even in the dark days after the UIGEA forced them out of the US they repaid players promptly. The main scandal associated with Paradise Poker was an underage player winning a million dollar freeroll back in the early 2000s.

Under the ownership of the trusted William Hill brand, and with an operating license from Kahnawake, this site is as safe as they come. There are the usual whines about bad beats and document requests slowing pay outs online – though no major issues.

What Devices Does the Paradise Poker Software Support?

There are three versions of the OnGame software which Paradise Poker support. These are the Mac or Windows download, plus the instant play (in-browser) Java version. This skin does not have an Android or Apple app. You can access the games via a tablet or iPad using the instant play software and play cash games or the fast-fold ‘Strobe’ poker.

Just One Welcome Bonus at Paradise – Though It Is a Big One

You’ll get a 100% to €1,000 max welcome bonus here, with bonus code BONUS1000. You’ll need to be careful though, as if you do not opt into the loyalty scheme then you will not accumulate points towards clearing your bonus. This is simple enough to do, you just need to head to the ‘MyPoker’ page on the website and click a button. Not knowing about this could catch people out though.

This bonus is cleared in €20 increments  You have 60 days to clear the bonus.

However, there are no extras for signing up. The main incentives in addition to this bonus are the cash back, player rewards and exclusive tournaments detailed below.

Paradise Poker Value Back and Loyalty Offers

The main reason to join Paradise Poker is their cash back rewards. These go up to 40% for very high volume players, with 20% easy to achieve for part-time or lower buy-in poker fans. It looks like the owners, William Hill, have standardized their cash back deals on the OnGame sites they own. Scandic Bookmakers, their Danish-only portal, have the exact same deals.

There are two related systems in place, the monthly VIP levels and the yearly VIP levels. Note that you join the yearly level as soon as your average is big enough. For example, if you earn 12,000 points then you have 1000 / month for the year and go straight to this yearly rate.

Here are the Standard VIP levels.
  • 0 - 250 Points / Month – 8% Value-Back
  • 250 – 1000 Points / Month – 9% Value-Back
  • 1000 – 3000 Points / Month – 12% Value-Back
  • 30000 – 6000 Points / Month – 16% Value-Back
  • 6000+ Points / Month – 20% Value-Back
  • Here are the Yearly VIP tiers:
  • 1000 – 6000 Average / Month – 20% Value-Back
  • 6000 – 20000 Average / Month – 30% Value-Back
  • 20000+ Average / Month – 40% Value-Back

These are generous rewards, with the 40% rate achieved at a similar points level to other sites. Lower stakes players can beat the 8% and 9% levels, while Full Deck Poker start players out at 12%. You can buy tournament entries (or even enter FPP tournaments) with your points. The value-back percentages above assume you are exchanging your points for cash.

Exclusive Tournaments and Instant Rewards

There are tournaments guaranteeing $30,000 each month which are exclusive to Paradise Poker players and not available to others on the OnGame network. These include 3 weekly ‘Finals’ and a lot of qualifiers to win tickets to these events. There is also a 100 FPP loyalty freeroll on the 10th of each month.

There are also instant rewards of small bonuses and tournament entries for completing easy challenges. These are aimed at small stakes recreational players as a way to incentivise their learning about different types of poker. They are targeted at individual players through the ‘MyPoker’ area of the site.

Paradise Poker does not currently run regular rake races. What they do instead is offer these as part of their monthly promotions schedule. Recent examples included a Strobe Poker race and $13k freeroll series.

What Banking Options are Available at Paradise Poker?

The advantage of sticking with a legitimate company is that just about every deposit method you can wish for is accepted. This includes Visa, MasterCard, Paypal, NETeller, Skrill and Wire Transfers. Individual methods have different deposit limits, and support will be able to assist should your card get rejected. Paradise Poker has a detailed responsible gambling policy, and you can set limits or exclude for yourself if you wish.

How Good are the Customer Support?

I got a reply to my mail using their online form in around 1 ½ hours, which is fast by industry standards. My question was answered with a link back to the website, though to be fair the information I needed was there.

You have several options for contacting support. These are e-mail, telephone (toll-free numbers are provided for Canada and the UK), live chat is also available 9am to 9pm, and you can even try to contact them via Twitter. There is also a FAQ on the site, which has a lot of ‘related questions’ covering common queries.

Paradise Poker on the OnGame Network – Summing Up

This is a legitimate and trustworthy site with a long history as professional operators. They certainly tick all the right boxes as far as bonuses and rewards are concerned too. High volume players can get up to 40% returns, while more recreational players are looked after with instant rewards and smaller value-back numbers.

The lack of regular races is one area which might be of concern to the highest volume grinders. For me, the balance of safety and rewards is very good in general at this OnGame site.
